Workshop on "Giving & Getting Rejections" | Singles Community 2.0

Rejection is hard, no matter whether you're getting or giving it.

For the ones getting rejected, it can feel very disappointing when our expectations of the future collapses into pieces. It can even affect our self-worth, where we start asking ourselves “is something wrong with me?”

For the ones giving rejection, there’s pain from knowing we’re about to break someone’s heart, which might lead to the loss of a great friendship.

How should we as Christians navigate these situations?

The Bible does not promise us a life without suffering and disappointment, and that includes emotional pain. Some of us have felt this deeply as we walk through extended periods of unwanted singleness.

Yet amidst our suffering, we know our God is the God of all comfort, hope and peace. He has not left us to walk through this season alone.

In our upcoming workshop on 21st September (Sat), we’ll be uncovering what the Bible says about managing disappointment, especially in the context of singleness.

This will be a casual late morning session where we discover the promises of God’s Word through open and facilitated discussions, while getting to know like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ.

After the session, you’re strongly encouraged to stay for lunch to fellowship with other participants. Lunch isn't provided, so we'll head out to eat at one of the nearby places. If God wills, you might get to know more friends from the opposite gender!
