About the Event

This is a Zoom talk for singles on Living Wisely in an Age of Uncertainty (Ps 90) - Counting our days and making everyday count. The topic of “Living Wisely in the Midst of Uncertainty” is particularly pertinent to singles contending with singleness and aloneness, aging or when diagnosed with a debilitating condition. Singles who are going through mid-life crisis and are searching for meaning in their lives and grappling with issues of mortality will be encouraged by the wise counsel of the Word of God.  Singles who focus only on their careers and building a nest egg for themselves without a thought of building relationships can be heading to burnout and ultimately finding themselves thirsty, empty and alone. How can singles avoid idolizing their careers and/or spending their days working the daily grind without considering self-care learn from the wisdom of God to live more wisely? How can singles be wary and wise against buying into the standards of the world and social media to fit in out of FOMO? Larger than life social media posts of Hollywood style weddings and love songs that play up the myth that marriage is the meaning of life can discourage and demoralize the single who has not found the right one to marry. How can we equip believing singles to be good stewards every day of their life unto God? Register here: https://brmcsg.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/1522396 The reality of time and eternity, life and death are unavoidable. We can never predict what tomorrow will bring. Because our days are numbered, how can we count our days and make every day count? How can we respond to fast passing time with a heart of wisdom? Come join us to hear from Pastor Stanley Tay as he shares with us from Psalm 90. “Ps Stanley Tay worked in the petrochemical industry for 14 years. He joined the pastoral staff team at St. John’s – St. Margaret’s Church (SJSM) in 2005 after obtaining a Master in Christian Studies (Spiritual Theology) from Regent College, Canada. He left the team in early 2021 to pursue the Doctor of Ministry (Spiritual Direction & Formation) program with Fuller Theological Seminary. He has taught for the Anglican Diocesan Certificate of Biblical Studies (DCBS) program and at the Biblical Graduate School of Theology (BGST), and has led several retreats and Holy Land pilgrimages as a spiritual director."
